On July 10, the Zoning Board of Appeals will meet to discuss Dunkin' Donut's request to demolish an 83-year old Spanish style historic house to make room for a parking lot for their store which is adjacent.
The request is to expand the lot for parking spaces and raze the house at 412 Avenida Alegre.
Area homeowners are quoted as saying, ““From 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., it’s a treacherous situation, I think a parking lot will make a big improvement as far as safety on the street goes.” With a lack of parking spaces, Dunkin' customers sometimes use residential driveways to turn around in, creating a traffic hazard.
