CALIFORNIA CRAFTSMAN HOME WITH GHERY POP-OUT SPACE

Built in 1959
Extensively renovated in 2004

Rick Cortez was the designer,
Frank Ghery added a pop-out to
serve as master bedroom, to take in
the night stars.

The dark wood floors and built-in shelves
are Spanish cedar, sourced from
"reclaimed barn floors
from the East Coast,"
according to the
original listing.

Craftsman style homes combine
simple design
with natural materials such as wood
to emphasize the individual craftsman
over the industrial revolution aesthetic.

There are 5 bedrooms, 3 and a half baths
and the Chef's kitchen
has the largest BOOS
butcher block ever manufactured.

This rustic canyon home is in Santa Monica.
